This high-class wine is elaborated from the fine Armenian autochthonous grape variety Haghtanak harvested at perfect maturity from old vines situated at over 1000 meters above sea level in Ararat valley.
Vinification: After being hand-picked and severely sorted, we used the combination of fermentation and maceration in traditional Karas (clay amphoraes of 1000 litres) at 20-28 °C. Aged on the skin for 2 months and pressed with small hydraulic press. The malolactic fermentation took place in Armenian oak barrels.
Aging process: Aged in Armenian 225l oak barrels for 1,5 year.
Serving Temp.: To be decanted and served at 18 °C
Food pairing: Recommended with ribald meat dishes.
Tasting notes: A dark crimson-red color wine with multiple aromas of ripe berries, black currant and oak wood. This red nectar is full-bodied with mature tannins and a very long-lasting persistence.
