GRAPE VARIETIES
Voskehat & Garandmak – two indigenous Armenian grape varieties that have been cultivated in Armenia for centuries. The two varieties complement each other beautifully: Voskehat brings elegance and aromatic finesse, while Garandmak contributes structure and character.
REGION
ZORAH’s vineyards are located at around 1,400 metres above sea level in Vayotz Dzor, one of Armenia’s highest-altitude wine regions. The poor, sandy and stony limestone soils, together with the significant temperature differences between hot days and cool nights, create ideal conditions for slowly ripening grapes with pronounced freshness and minerality.
VINIFICATION & AGEING
The grapes are hand-harvested and spontaneously fermented with natural yeasts in large, temperature-controlled concrete tanks. The wine is then aged for 11 months in concrete and a further 6 months in bottle. This gentle ageing preserves the wine’s natural freshness while allowing remarkable depth and complexity to develop.
TASTING NOTES
The nose reveals delicate aromas of stone fruit and ripe peach. On the palate, the wine is dry, fresh and mineral, with a distinctive chalky character. Its elegant structure, pronounced depth and long, precise finish make it a distinctive expression of the high-altitude vineyards of Vayotz Dzor.
