GRAPE VARIETY
Areni Noir – one of the world’s oldest indigenous grape varieties. Cultivated in Armenia for thousands of years, it remains ungrafted and is exceptionally well adapted to the harsh climate of Vayotz Dzor. Its thick skin and natural resistance contribute to its distinctive character.

REGION
ZORAH’s vineyards are located at around 1,400 metres above sea level in Vayotz Dzor. Sandy, stony limestone soils and significant temperature differences between hot days and cool nights shape the grapes, contributing to freshness and minerality.

VINIFICATION & AGEING
The grapes are spontaneously fermented with natural yeasts in temperature-controlled concrete tanks. The wine then matures for around 12 months in traditional Armenian clay vessels known as Karasi, some buried underground and others above ground. A further 6 months of bottle ageing follows.

TASTING NOTES
Bright purple in colour, with delicate aromas of wild berries and dark fruit. Spicy, powerful and yet elegant on the palate, with dynamic tannins, vibrant energy and a long, mineral finish.
