Claude Küng was born into a family of pharmacists and is himself a pharmacist, running the family pharmacy for 37 years. In 2006, he travelled to Armenia for the first time and was immediately won over by the atmosphere, arts, food and wines of this country, as well as by its rich history, going from glorious times at the dawn of Christianity to hardship under Turkish, and then Russian, occupation. He consequently did not hesitate for a second when Mikayel approached him about a wine import project.
